Show off your ribbon bows on Hair Accessories
Hair accessories... I am referring to anything, everything that you can use to show off your ribbon bows. They run a gamut from inexpensive plastic clips and bands, shiny nickel plated clips, springy barrettes, to exclusive French made barrettes.
I have listed here the commonly used hair accessories for ribbon bows, sharing with you each unique entity for various hair types and styling need. Plus, a link to how you can attach your ribbon bow on it.
Alligator hair clips
Alligator hair clips open by squeezing one end, close down on the hair holding a small to medium amount of hair. They made great kids hair accessories for baby and girls with little hair, moms can easily clip or remove hair bows on little ones without a fuss.
They come in good sizes of 35 - 50mm (1-1/4” - 2”) in length.
Plastic Clips? a great option for baby and girls with thin delicate hair. As girls may pull off their hair bow from their hair, some parents prefer plastic over metal in terms of safety point.

Barrettes
Barrettes clasp close to hold a portion of hair in place, or pony tail depending on their size.
French clip, named after the high quality barrettes made in France. By far, this is the most popular hair clips besides alligator clips.
It is available in 30 – 80mm (1-1/2” – 3”) length. My favorite size is 40mm length as it is just nice to attached a small to mid size ribbon bow that fits very well on kids hair.
Hair Snaps
Hair snaps are tiny clips that snap your hair tight, but they are not as convenient and easy to use as compare to alligator clips. A couple of sizes available, ranging within 25 – 100mm (1” – 4”) in length.
Hair Pins
Commonly known as bobby pins, they are smaller than clips and slide into hair rather than clamp down. With a overall length of 50mm (2”), they are commonly used by hair stylist in updo, neatly securing portions of hair in style.
Headbands and Wraps
Headbands and wraps hold hair back away from the face and come in several styles.

Generally made in plastic, these headbands rest on the head ending behind the ears. These are two of my perferred size but they also come in 35mm or 50mm width. |

Headbands like these with gripping combs will hold better on thick hair, great for making bridal and flower girl bands. |
These are made of soft elastic or conforming materials and wrap completely around the head. Best on baby girls, you can easily dressed up her head without a fuss, where or not she has pretty hair.
Hair Bands
Hair bands, or rather known as Pony-O... They are woven elastic used to bundle up ponytail. Consider hair bands that do not have a metal piece connector as follows. They don’t snatch away strand of hairs when you remove them.
