What's the best combination in multicolor headband patterns?
Great question! Let's first look at what we can achieve in multicolor headband patterns below.

The Four Colors Patterns
Have you thought about the number of patterns you can make with four different colors ribbons?
24. There are a total twenty-four patterns you can create.
How you position your ribbons at start determine the pattern you'll be getting.
At this point, if you're wondering how to do the braiding, let's take a reverse step to the making of ribbon headband.
It did cross my mind to show you all 24 patterns here... After looking at all the possibilities, I would rather highlight to you the important factors that make your pattern outstanding.
Let's look at this two examples here:

Four Colors Headband Pattern A

Four Colors Headband Pattern B
Comparing the two pattern, my preference would be pattern A. It gave me a better feel and satisfaction. It is well defined whereas Pattern B is rather confusing
Why?
Decide the dominant ribbons
We have to decide the right ribbon to go at the center. Pick the dominant ribbon to create this focal point.
I suggest the dark colors, the bright colors and the patterned ribbons as dominant ribbons.
If you have four ribbons in your hand, take a second look at the colors or their patterns. Pick two ribbons to play this dominant role.
As seen picture above, I have chosen dark blue and white to play the dominant role. These dominant ribbons MUST be positioned at the left side, on BOTH front or rear, at starting point.
With this in mind, do trust that your ribbon headbands would stand out from the rest!
