Heat Seal Ribbon Ends with Candle or Lighter
I love to heat seal ribbon ends with candle. It's easy, fast and neat.
Things you need:
- Your ribbon, with ends neatly trim; and
- candle and lighter or matches.
There are two ways you can go about. You can either hold your lighter and quickly run the flame along the ribbon end...
... or like what you see in these photos below. I have my tea light candle (or any other smokeless candle) lit, and then I quickly move the ribbon end beside the flame.

Pay attention to how far I hold my ribbon and place it near the flame. You must have good control of your ribbon (meaning the ribbon doesn’t wilt in your hand) before placing it near the flame! My rule of thumb is about 25mm (1”) from the ribbon end.
